My name is Abby Lord & I reversed incontinence

I’m a master trainer of Hypopressives, pilates teacher and postnatal specialist.

My journey to become a master trainer began in unfortunate circumstances. It started with me experiencing horrendous incontinence (I could not drive or be driven anywhere without having to stop every 5-10 minutes to pee) then giving myself gallstones by not drinking anything for fear of peeing my pants at work.

The icing on the cake was also me discovering I had a prolapse shortly after the birth of my second boy (I had whooping cough when I was 7 months pregnant) and I like so many other women had no idea what was happening to me.

In the UK we have an out of hours service called NHS 24 I called them in a panic, frightened, worried that the whole of my insides might fall out!

The advice was to keep my legs elevated as much as possible throughout the weekend (like that was going to be practical as I had two children under 2).

Fast forward, I’m completely symptom-free today.

I attribute my success to 10 minutes of Hypopressives every day, emotional trauma release and other core/pelvic methods.

Incontinence is common but not normal

200 million people suffer from incontinence. If you are above 45, up to 50% suffer from it.

Yet we are told it is normal  and we need to learn to live with it. 

Yes, it is common but NOT normal! And no, you don’t need to live with it. 

Let me paint a vivid picture for you. Imagine attending a family gathering, surrounded by loved ones and joyous laughter.

Suddenly, without warning, you feel that dreaded sensation—the uncontrollable urge to empty your bladder. Your heart races as you frantically search for a bathroom, desperately trying to avoid the humiliation of an accident in front of your family. It’s a horrifying scenario that can shatter your confidence and leave lasting emotional scars.

That was me not too long ago. 

I was literally there in that photo you see. Laughing on the outside but shit scared that I might pee my pants on the inside. 

Today, I love jumping on trampolines with my kids. I run marathons. I do all the things I was asked not to do.

Status Quo solutions leave much to be desired

Pads and Absorbent Products

While they have their role, it’s essential to recognize that these products only address the symptoms and do not address the underlying cause of incontinence. They are primarily focused on managing leaks rather than providing a long-term solution.

Understanding the root cause of incontinence is key to overcoming it. 

New emerging scientific studies show the prevalence of Scar tissue within the pelvic area as the primary cause of pelvic dysfunction including symptoms of incontinence of all types. The scar tissue plays a key part in creating an overly tense pelvic floor.

Particularly, in your pelvic fascia. The fascia is a connective tissue that surrounds and supports muscles, organs, and other structures in the body, playing a crucial role in maintaining structural integrity and facilitating movement.
